People say I travel a lot. My family says I travel too much. I say there is no such thing.
School starts up September 2nd, and I wanted to go on one last trip to end one of my best summers yet. (Nothing beats last summer). A friend of mine, whom I traveled with to London and Barcelona, just moved out to Southern California for school. It was a perfect excuse to travel outside of my state. Not too far, but far enough.
I’m just here for the holiday weekend, so we’re trying to cram as much stuff as we can into the few days I have here. And it started out pretty well, I say. What’s better than eating your way through Carlsbad at an Oceanside Market?
There was so much food!
I opted for a gyro.
I usually detest lamb, but this was meat roasted in heaven.
There was a little stand called “The London Bakery.” Of course we stopped.
I got the Victoria Sponge cake, and it was the best sponge cake I have ever had.
The baker lady is from London, herself. She seemed excited that we actually new that London was broken up into smaller cities. She spent most of her life in Stepney then moved further out into Essex. We made a connection, it was great.
After a hard few hours of feasting our eyes out, we set out for the beach.
The waves were huge due to an aftermath of Tropical Storm Marie.
Hopefully the waves won’t be as high today, so I can go play in the water!
