There’s a spot just a little northeast of Denver where buffalo roam free….
No really, there’s a place where there are a ton of bison out in the open fields eating and enjoying life, just outside the city.
The Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge (a bit a mouthful, I know) is a beautiful little piece of nature away from the busy lights and sounds of the city. It’s a fairly decent size of land full of hiking/biking trails, bird watching, and wildlife. It’s kind of like being in your own little piece of Yellowstone. And the bison are up front and personal!
And I have to say, the sunsets from that part of the city are pretty spectacular.
