(Part 2 of the Black Canyon series)
Just behind the visitor’s center in the Black Canyon, there is a beautiful view point called Gunnison. It’s placed right on top of a fissure, known as a dike made of pegmatite, in the canyon formed by geological processes over a billion years ago.
The walk is a short 0.1 mile hike and is a quick but beautiful stop along the canyon’s south rim. Definitely give it a look.
