It’s been quite an adventurous weekend. A friend of mine, Jennifer, flew in from North Carolina for the weekend, and I’ve been showing her practically the whole of Utah. This post may have to be broken up into a few posts…
After showing her around Salt Lake, we headed down to Southern Utah. Waking up suuuper early to get to Cedar City by 10 to pick up my sister…
Once everything was packed into the car (and a couple mad dashes back into the house for forgotten items) we were on the road! We drove…
And finally, we picked up Lily Mae!
After about another hour of driving (Utah is big!), we finally made it to our first destination: Sand Hollow.
It’s a small State Park near Hurricane, Utah. We were quite weary of going out swimming because of the oncoming storm…we did anyway, haha.
The whole area is quite gorgeous.
All the rich folk had the boats ready to go in the water
But soon after we were in the water, the storm blew in, and it wasn’t being nice. Seeing as neither my sister and I can actually swim, the waves were getting larger, the wind was slapping our face, and the rain was starting to beat down, we were quite scared for our lives, and nearly drowned swimming back to shore….So I don’t recommend swimming when it’s stormy!
After we had safely made it back to my car, and realized that we hadn’t actually died, we cleaned off and left for our hotel….in Mesquite.
Yup, because it was a holiday weekend, practically all of the hotels had no vacancy in Southern Utah. So we went to Nevada instead.
And had some more water time….we’re kind of crazy.
We stayed at the Casablanca. Quite a nice hotel, actually. Just bloody hot.
But a good way to end our adventures for the day. We were all set to go home the next morning, until we decided to go to Vegas….
