Last year, when I was in London, my family decided to do all sorts of fun hikes. My sister was telling me about one that had quite a lovely waterfall at the end of it. So, on a weekend I didn’t have anything planned, we decided to head out to find it.

We had a bit of driving to do, about an hour, so not too bad. Especially with the sites we were seeing from the car alone

greeneryforestThis time of year, Utah is very green, especially up in the mountains. After some confused driving through the canyon, and almost missing our fork in the road, we finally found the trail head, and got on our way.

start of the trailThe trail is called Timpooneke. There are several arguments over how this is actually pronounced..

i can hear the fallswhite barkThe Timpooneke trail is 15 miles round trip. BUT DON’T WORRY! The falls aren’t anywhere near that far up the mountain. There’s a turnoff, but I’ll get to that in a second.

mossy waterfallThe first 45 minutes of our hike was quite hot, but mostly shaded. However, the closer you get to the waterfall, you’ll start passing little mini ones along the way. Perfect for cooling yourself off!

Only 1 1/2 miles up, there’s a sign, letting you know that your refuge is so close, and you can laugh at the other hikers as the pass the sign by and continue climbing the mountain. scout falls signThe hardest part of this hike is the fact that you have to climb a tree to get to the falls. However, it’s a very easy tree to climb, so no worries.
