For the past year I have been dying to get down to Brighton. I hear amazing things about the beach, nightlife, and shopping there. So I made sure that this year I would pay it a visit.
Unfortunately, it was only a day trip, and I wish I could have had more time down there. I felt so serene and at peace just lying there on the beach, catching some sun, feeling the cool ocean breeze blowing over me.
Brighton is a beach city on the south end of England. It was about a 2 hour coach ride out of London, so a day trip is very possible. There is a train that gets there faster, but it costs about twice as much as the bus, so I chose the more affordable option. What’s another 40 minutes, really?
The Brighton Pier is covered with lots of fun things to do: rides, food, gambling, you name it.
Want to know the best thing about traveling alone? You never have to share your cotton candy! Don’t judge me…
The beach is not your typical Californian beach, though. There is no sand. Just rocks. It may sound painful, but you hardly notice. As long as you have something to lay on top of, and sandals to walk from point A to point B, you’ll be fine! I kind of prefer it…no sand in secret places!
Pardon my awful tan lines from various shoes…
There are even those who brave the cold water!
A wonderful and relaxing getaway from the Big City.
