I can be adventurous when it comes to flavors. When I came across this little flavor twist on lemonade, I knew I had to try it.
Beware, this drink is not for every one. Let me tell you that now. But I loved it, so if your craving to try something a little different, especially during this wonderful warm weather (that we occasionally have every other week..) I’d say this is definitely one to try.
Typically, this is more of a summer drink…but because finals are coming up, I have summer fever!
1 1/2 cups of fresh lemon juice (about 6 lemons)
8 or 9 sprigs of thyme
1 quart of strawberries
1 cup of sugar
6 cups of water
First, make sure you have your lemon juice ready and available. So squeeeeeze first.
Next, add 1 cup of water, the sugar, and the thyme into a medium saucepan and place it over medium-high heat.
Allow the water to boil, and let the sugar dissolve, forming a syrup.
Remove the saucepan from the heat, and allow to cool. Meanwhile, mix your lemon juice, remaining 5 cups of water, and your strawberries in a large pitcher.
Remove the thyme from the pan, and discard. Add the syrup to the lemonade and give it a swirl! Chill the pitcher for at least an hour. Serve over ice, and garnish with more fresh thyme!
It’s a bit tangy if you like that kind of stuff. I sure do!
Tell me what’s your flava?
